Amsted Manufacturing USA is Hiring a Manufacturing Engineer Near Granite, IL

Amsted Rail is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for our Granite City, IL Foundry!

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for all aspects of foundry technology development and process improvement. A successful applicant will be a self-driven engineer who takes on problems as opportunities, leverages their own talents, and communicates with the team to drive everyday improvement from the floor up. Applicants with experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment are preferred.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities for improvements in capital equipment and develop business cases for purchase/integration.
  • Identify and select appropriate machinery, tools, and equipment for manufacturing processes.
  • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Develop custom designs for equipment and guarding to support production activities.
  • Coordinating and overseeing maintenance and repairs to buildings and grounds.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that manufacturer’s procedures and instructions are followed in order to keep production equipment operational.
  • Investigate and resolve production issues, equipment malfunctions, and other challenges to maintain production efficiency.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives throughout the foundry to improve safety, assure quality, and remove operating cost.
  • Lead process and machine optimization/standardization.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Provide engineering support for predictive and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Manage projects:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and requirements.
  • Create necessary drawings and documentation to assure successful project implementation.
  • Determine the necessary resources, materials, manpower, and cost requirement for successful project execution.
  • Monitor and control project costs, ensuring that the project stays within the allocated budget.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication among project team members and stakeholders.
  • Regularly monitor progress, identifying deviations from the plan and taking corrective actions as necessary.
  • Coordinate the project’s finalization, including handover, documentation, spare parts, PMs, and evaluation of project outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering. Strong mechanical aptitude. Highly organized and excellent communication skills. Proficiency in AutoCAD.

Preferred Experience:

  • Project management experience
  • 3D Modeling experience
  • Industrial experience
